Bras d'Or Indian Village Association meets with legal representative

POINT ACONI — The Bras d'Or Indian Village Association held a community meeting on Thursday to discuss the next step in their efforts to establish band status

Steven J. May, (Plaid Shirt), from the law firm Cox and Palmer in St. John's, N.L.,  was in attendance. This was the second time May has met with the local group

Though the process takes time, band Chief Nancy Swan has said it will eventually lead to the necessary step of suing the federal government to have the members of Bras d'Or Indian Village Association and  their ancestors  recorded in the Indian register.
